DENVER (KDVR) -- A Denver Health paramedic is recovering after being hit by a drunk driver last week while biking home in Denver. As a paramedic, Jacob Oldefest drives and rides the streets of Denver every day. “The last four years I’ve been able to help so many people and be a part of saving so many lives, helping so many folks,” Oldefest said. He usually bikes to and from work. “I’ve been bicycle commuting for four years and been having a great time,” Oldefest said. Wednesday night, things took a turn for the worse. Pueblo mom shot twice, survived attempted carjacking “I remember seeing her windshield and being on the ground," Oldefest said. A drunk driver plowed into Oldefest at the corner of Colfax and Sherman, taking off and leaving him with a broken femur, lacerated kidney and liver, a hematoma and lots of scrapes and bruises. “You always want to go over the car, never under the car,” Oldefest said. DENVER (KDVR) -- The 2022-23 snow season started off with impressive above-average snowfall, but accumulation has decreased since February. The bar graph below shows the month-to-month snowfall for Denver this winter season (blue) compared to the monthly average snowfall (white). Denver had three months in a row with well above average snowfall totals to kick off the season along with December and January picking up 13 inches each. By February, snowfall totals greatly decreased for Denver with only 4.7 inches of snow. It was the only month this winter season so far that ended with below-average totals. Comparing this winter to last in the bar graph below, last winter season started off slow with only a trace of snowfall in November and 4.8 inches in December. Snowfall accumulation picked up in 2022 in January and February with over a foot measured in both months. There’s new video of the U.S. Coast Guard rescuing migrants off Key West.This is about six miles south of the southernmost point.Crews pulled 18 people from the rough seas and another 10 from that vessel Monday after getting tipped off by a boater.One person remains missing, and officials said they will continue to search.Two of the people saved were brought to shore and sent to the hospital.The nationality of the group has not yet been released.Sanheim, Hart lead Flyers past Panthers 6-3

Police have released security footage of a break-in that happened over a month ago.It happened at El Tamarindo Cafe along West State Road 84 in Fort Lauderdale.Officials said the man on the video used a brick to smash through the window, once inside he used the brick to crack open the register.He then grabbed the cash and took off with the money. The amount taken was not disclosed. Police are now releasing the video hoping to drum up leads. A 77-year-old woman reported missing in the West Newton Square area of Newton was located Tuesday night, police announced. Police previously asked for the public’s help in a search for Sheila Walsh.Police said in an update around 10:30 p.m. that Walsh had been found safe.
